Evan Hopkins got a shock when he checked the tyres on his 1967 Mini Cooper S at the start of the week.
The 90bhp from the 1293cc engine, linked to Evan's heavy right foot, meant they were no longer fit for purpose. However, that purpose was getting his bride-to-be Victoria to church on Friday!
No matter. One phone call to Ben at Vintage Tyres on Monday afternoon meant that four Dunlop SP R7s were with Evan and ready to be fitted by 1pm on Tuesday, leaving Evan to concentrate on at least 100 other wedding planning details.
The couple were married at Normanton Church, Rutland Water with Evan's Mini featuring prominently in the photos. A drinks reception on the Rutland Belle pleasure cruiser followed, by which time the Mini was parked safely.
"I can't thank Ben enough for his great service," said an emotional Evan. "The Dunlops are the right tyre for my Cooper S and Vintage Tyres helped to get Victoria to the church on time."
