Standard fitment was a 29x4.75 (475-20) crossply tyre.
One of the first front-wheel drive cars built, hence the name. It was a departure from Alvis's previous, successful models. It employed all the FWD and independent suspension experience Alvis had gained from its racing cars, in a technologically advanced package aimed at enthusiasts. Unfortunately, the market wasn't ready for this much novelty, and the Depression didn't help. So Alvis reverted back to its previous models and abandoned the FWD.
