The Silver Eagle was fitted with a 30x5.25 (525-20) crossply tyre from the begining of production until the range was paused in 1931/32, in versions SA, SD, TB and SE.
The new SF of 1934 initially had a 525-20, but its replacement, the SG moved to a 500-20 crossply tyre until production ended in 1936.
The Silver Eagle replaced the 14/75 as Alvis's 6-cylinder chassis. It came in 2 versions, to suit either comfortbale touring bodies, or more sporty layouts (even motorsports categories). A succesful model, production was paused while Alvis established the Speed 20 and Crested Eagle as more upmarket 6-cylinder cars. It returned in 1934.
