Austin A40 Devon & Dorset 1947 to 1952
Austin's postwar County series of car ranges were part of the fabric of Britain, and this first small family car saloon dramatically well. The Dorset was a 2-door version. It also decisely moved Austin away from prewar design, with headlights in the wings and IFS (it would take longer for unitary construction and the end of suicide doors though). It was also the first car to use the incredibly long-lived B-series engine.
The standard tyre fitment is a 500/525-16 crossply.
