A40 Somerset 1952-1954

Austin A40 Somerset 1952-1954

Smallish family saloon from Austin's rotund and swoopy styling period in the early 1950s. Named using Austin's (mildly confusing) county system, it replaced the Devon/Dorset. It was well built, but very traditional in its technology and construction. Still looks cute, and was popular in its day, rare now.

The Somerset was originally fitted with either a 500-16 or 525-16 crossply tyre. There is a choice of 500/525-16 tyres available that can replace both these sizes.
