Tyre Size: 145/80R13 (145R13) | Austin Metropolitan 1954 to 1961

Tiny and interesting convertible. Early 1200cc models (mostly sold in the US) were equipped with 520-13 crossply tyres, the later cars with the 1489cc engine were fitted with 560-13 tyres. If you would like to fit a radial tyre, the 520-13 could be replaced with a 145R13, and the 560-13 could be replaced by a 155R13.

Styled like an American car, but much, much smaller. Austin built it as a Nash model for that company to sell in the USA. From 1957 it was sold in the UK, and some other overseas markets, as a hardtop or convertible. Using familiar Austin engines and gearbox, it's a popular survivor from an unlikely sales relationship, certainly more so than the Atlantic previously offered to the US market. This is probably why it regularly turns up in fims and TV shows (like Clueless, Commando, Starsky & Hutch, and the Simpsons!).
