The D8 (1929 to 1933) was originally fitted with a 30x6.75 (700-18) crossply tyre for both Normale and S versions.
The D8-15 (1933 to 1934) had a 600-18 crossply tyre, with the option of a 650-18 for the longer chassis. The S model was fitted with a 550-18.
The D8-85 and D8-105 (1934 to 1935) had a 17-inch wheel, fitted with 650-17 crossplies.
The final D8-100 and D8-120 models (1936 to 1940) had a 700-17 crossply tyre.
Delage's most prestigious model line, the 8 cylinder D8 replaced the luxurious GLS, and more practical DM models. Available as a chassis to be clothed by the fashionable coachbuilders of the day, the D8 was at the top of the automotive tree in France. Fast, powerful, yet fairly mechanically conservative, the D8 was regularly revised until the takeover of the firm by Delehaye in 1935. From this point on, the D8 was effectively an 8-cylinder Delahaye. During this period it was equipped with some pretty extremely styled bodies! Unlike the D6, it wasn't reintroduced after the war.
