Brand: Dunlop | Maserati Merak 1972 to 1983

Merak models were fitted with a staggered set of tyres. The front was a 185/70VR15 radial tyre, and the rear a 205/70VR15. In 1983 (the last year of production) the Merak was fitted with a 195/70VR15 front, and 215/70VR15 rear.

The Merak took the basic structure of the Bora, replaced the engine with a smaller V6, added occasional rear seats, then restyled the rear with a cut-off deck and flying butresses. This created a more entry-level exotic sportscar, to compete with equivalents from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. It was pretty successful too!
