Porsche's luxury V8 GT. Originally fitted with a 225/50VR16 radial tyre. There was the option of a 215/60VR15 tyre on a 15 inch wheel in 1981 and 1982.

It seems unlikely now, but Porsche intended this V8 GT car as the replacement for its aging 911. A change of management reversed this plan, and the 928 entered the Porsche range as a businessman's express. It's was well suited to this role, as it's a fast, relaxed and technologically advanced car. This original version was quickly replaced by the S, as Porsche realised that it needed more power from a marketing perspective.
