Profile: 50 | Porsche 928 S 1979 to 1983

Originally fitted with a 225/50VR16 radial tyre.

Porsche quickly upgraded the original 928, addressing some of the early model's perceived problems. Power was increased as a priority, as were wheel and tyre sizes. Front and rear spoilers were added to assist with the aerodynamics. Rubbing strips were added to the sides of the car, which were vulnerable due to the strong curve of the panel. This upgrading of the 928 continued in a similar vein throughout the car's life, especially after changes within the company resurrected the 911, and gave the 928 a more luxurious role.
