The Vanguard III was fitted with a 550-16 crossply tyre, which could be replaced with a 550R16 or 165R16 radial tyre.
The first monocoque version of the Vanguard was lighter, faster and had more modern lowline styling. Better equipment, but engines and running gear were mostly very familiar.
