The final version of the Rapier was a stylish mid-sized coupe based on the Hunter saloon. Standard tyre fitment was a 155SR13, with the option of a 165SR13 on a wider, 5.5J wheel for the fastest versions.

The fastback styling was very American, and it was a good-looking car. The Holbay engined H120 was the top of the range, and the Alpine was a budget version.
