Like its predecessor, the Chevette was fitted as standard with a 155SR13 radial tyre, with the option of a 175/70HR13 on a wider wheel for the more powerful models.
The 2300HS and HSR homolgation cars were fitted with a much wider 205/60HR13 radial tyre on specific wheels.
Vauxhall's vesion of the Opel Kadett platform was a huge success, utilising homegrown engines, and easily recognisable styling that set it apart from the competition. It remained in production as Vauxhall's small family car for longer than expected, even after it was supposedly replaced by the Astra.
The 2300HS and HSR versions were homologation rally cars, and hugely competent performance cars for the road.
