TVR Vixen S1 - S4 1967 to 1973

TVR continues its steady development of its race-inspired coupes. All versions of the Vixen are fitted with a 165HR15 radial tyre.

As a new model, the 1967 Vixen was initially very much a re-engined Grantura, with a 1600 Ford GT spec engine replacing the MGB unit. This changed with 1968's S2, which stretched the wheelbase and doors, and replaced the 'Ban-the-bomb' tail lights with the rectangular ones from the Mk2 Cortina. 1969's S3 gained the Capri version of the Ford engine, and alloy wheels, and the S4 was a run-out model on a new chassis. A small proportion of the production were fitted with 1300 Triumph Spitfire engine, as an economy model: or with the Triumph 2500 engine which was certified for sale in the US.
